Welcome to our 3-day Marrakech to Merzouga Sahara Desert tour program! This is an inclusive experience that offers a unique opportunity to explore the beauty of Morocco’s diverse landscapes and rich culture. Our tour program is designed to provide you with an unforgettable journey filled with breathtaking views and exciting adventures.
We will start our journey in Marrakech and travel through the stunning Atlas Mountains, stopping at the famous Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, where you will have the opportunity to visit Kasbah Ait Benhaddou and soak in the beauty of the surrounding landscape. Our journey will then continue to the stunning Sahara Desert where you will have the chance to witness sunrise and sunset, a truly magical experience.
One of the highlights of our tour program is the overnight camel tour in the Sahara Desert. This experience will allow you to immerse yourself in the local culture, sleeping under the stars and surrounded by the beautiful desert dunes.
Overall, this tour program offers a unique and diverse experience, combining the beauty of Morocco’s mountains and deserts and providing a truly authentic and memorable adventure.
You’ll leave early in the morning for a journey east of Marrakech, passing through small towns on your way to the High Atlas Mountains. You will make some breaks to stretch your legs and take photos.
After that, you’ll drive uphill on winding roads to the famed Tizi Ntichka pass before arriving at Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. It is the first big sightseeing stop of the day. The UNESCO-listed Berber fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou is also well-known as a filming location for major Hollywood epics, like the Kingdom of Heaven, Lawrence of Arabia, and Gladiator.
Then, you continue to Dades Valley after a leisurely lunch at one of the local cafés. You will pass through Ouarzazate, Skoura Oasis, and Klaa Mgouna, the capital of the Valley of the Roses. When you get in Boumalne Dades, take a small route to Dades Canyons along the Dades River, passing by various fortified Kasbahs along the way. Late in the afternoon, you will arrive at your accommodation. Around 7h drive. Overnight at a Hotel
the journey will begin after breakfast at your hotel in Dades Valley with a drive along the 1001 Kasbahs road to the oasis of Tinghir. Once we get there, we will deviate to a minor road driving along the river to Todra, where you will stop for a walk in the oasis. Then, we continue to the Todra Gorges.
After some free time to take in the vastness of the cliffs and lunch at a local café (at leisure). We depart early in the afternoon for Rissani, which is known for its dates market and was formerly the starting point for historic commercial caravans crossing the Sahara desert to Tombouctou. We’ll proceed to Merzouga after a quick pit stop, passing through some difficult desert terrain.
Once you get to Merzouga, you will ride camels to the camp where you will spend the night under the stars. Around 5h drive.
You will have an early breakfast, and ride camels to the pick-up place. Then you drive back to Marrakech. Return to Ouarzazate with your driver and vehicle. After some free time for lunch, we travel via the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech in the afternoon. That's the end of our best Marrakech Merzouga Tour.
