Itinerary
Your 3-day desert tour begins with a morning pickup from your accommodation in Marrakech or the airport. We’ll journey through the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass, with stops to admire panoramic views of the rugged landscapes.
Our first major stop is the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a famous filming location for movies like Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy.
Next, we head to Ouarzazate, often called the "Hollywood of Morocco," where you’ll visit the renowned film studios. After lunch, we continue through Skoura’s palm groves and drive past the fragrant Rose Valley. Finally, we arrive in Boumalne Dades, where you’ll spend the night in a comfortable hotel.
After breakfast, we drive through the Dades Valley, stopping at a scenic viewpoint to admire the dramatic landscapes of the Dades Gorges. We then continue to the spectacular Todra Gorges, where the Todra River has carved towering red cliffs into the mountains—perfect for a relaxing walk and photo opportunities.
Our journey then takes us through the palm-filled villages of Touroug and Tinjdad, where you’ll have time for lunch.
By evening, we reach the Merzouga Desert and the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes. Upon arrival, you’ll check into a traditional desert camp, enjoy a delicious Berber dinner, and immerse yourself in the rhythms of live Saharan music under a sky full of stars.
Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the golden dunes—a magical experience you won’t forget. After breakfast, ride your camel back to Merzouga, where your driver will be waiting to continue the journey to Fes.
Our first stop is Rissani’s vibrant market, a traditional souk filled with colors, spices, and local crafts. If you visit on a market day (Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday), you’ll experience its lively atmosphere. We then drive to Erfoud, famous for its fossilized marble workshops, where you can see ancient rock formations.
Next, we pass through the picturesque Ziz Valley, known for its lush palm groves, before heading into the Middle Atlas Mountains. A stop at Azrou’s cedar forest offers the chance to see Barbary macaques in their natural habitat.
Finally, we arrive in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” due to its alpine-style architecture and pristine surroundings. After a short break to explore, we continue to Fes, where your driver will drop you off at your accommodation, marking the end of an unforgettable desert adventure.
